چکیده

Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) is a persistent lung infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis . The disease characterized high mortality rates of over 1 million per year. Unfortunately, the potency and effectiveness currently used anti-TB drugs gradually decreasing due to constant development persistence resistance M. adverse side effects associated with current drugs, along drug resistance, present an opportunity bio-prospect novel potent from unique sources. Fundamentally, fungi are rich source bioactive secondary metabolites valuable therapeutic potential. Enhancing fungal-based leads chemical synthesis and/or modification nanomaterials, may result in discovery drugs. In this review, antimycobacterial activity fungal-derived compounds mycogenic nanoparticles summarized. Numerous as well some that exhibit strong comparable approved were found. If fully explored, holds promise become key drivers generation lead TB-drug initiatives.

Synthesis and antimycobacterial activity of bornylamine derived amido-alcohols

Three novel amido-alcohols were synthesized on the base of the camphane scaffold. Natural amino acids were transformed into their -hydroxy analogues with retention of configuration, and attached to bornylamine. The compounds were evaluated for their in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv. The activity shifts from micromolar to nanomolar inhibitory concentrations depending o...

Synthesis and Antimycobacterial Activity of Novel Mandelic Acid Derived Diamide

Introduction Increasing drug resistance and poor activity of existing therapies towards the latent stage of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection has produced a clear need to develop novel therapeutics to treat tuberculosis [1]. Thus fast-acting drugs with novel mechanisms of action that are not cross resistant to existing drugs are being sought actively. Wilkinson and coworkers first reported t...

New Compounds with Progestational Activity: A Review

For some time steroid chemists have known that small chemical changes in steroid molecules may have profound effects on the biological activity of a compound. For example, a double bond inserted in the cortisone molecule greatly increases its biological activity as a-1, cortisone (meticorten). Likewise, removal of a methyl group from progesterone increases its biological activity, e.g., norprog...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
